ADS (Auction Data Search) is a search engine for auto auctions all around Japan. It crawls the biggest auction systems data and translates them from Japanese to English. With this system, you are able to search and purchase various kinds of vehicles provided by Japanese auctions, with the assurance of Has-Nihon.

Has-Nihon is one of the pioneer companies that has developed this type of auction search engine in Japan. We hope you will get all of the advantages of our system and enjoy purchasing your desired vehicles with ease.

1. Joining Has-Nihon Trading Co. Ltd.

We accept new membership applications only for those who intends to purchase a vehicle from ADS and plans to make a deposit as described below. Please fill out the membership registration form. You can use your membership ID and password for both of www.hasnihon.com and www.auctiondatasearch.jp websites after the activation.

2. Making a deposit for the auction items

There are two types of deposit choices available that both are refundable. Please find the explanations about the deposit types below:

• Premium Membership Deposit
• Advance Membership Deposit for Specific Purchase

3. Searching for your favorite cars in the auctions

Please log into www.auctiondatasearch.jp and go to Japan Auctions tab and enter searching conditions. For more explanations see: search process tutorial.

In order to purchase a car/bike from auto auctions, there are two membership types available, which require deposit:
"Premium Membership" or "Advance Membership".

Purchase as a Premium Member

If you are planning to purchase several number of cars/bikes from auctions, premium membership is the recommended option.

• Minimum 100,000 JPY is required for the premium membership.
  As soon as we receive the deposit amount, we will upgrade your membership to premium membership and activate, so you will be able to make proxy bids via ADS immediately.
• Premium membership deposit is refundable after deducting the transaction and the usage charges.
• If you pay by PayPal, about 4% is deducted from your deposit for the PayPal transfers.
• In case you no longer purchase nor submit any bids, ADS usage fee of 5,000 JPY is deducted per month, which starts one month after your last purchase or your last reasonable bid (even you failed to win the auction).
• First 3 months from the activation of your premium membership account we don't charge monthly ADS usage fee at all.
• With minimum deposit, premium members can bid up to 1,000,000 JPY. To define a bid over 1,000,000 JPY, an additional deposit payment as 25% of over amount will be required (for the members who has a purchase history this limit is also re-considerable).

Purchase as an Advance Member

This option is useful for those who are planning to purchase only one unit from Japan auto auctions. The deposit rate changes as following:

• To make a bid up to 800,000 JPY the minimum required deposit is 100,000 JPY.
• For the customers who has a purchase history deposit amounts are re-considerable.

• In case of an unsuccessful bid, the advance membership deposit can be used to purchase another car in auctions.
• Advance membership deposit is refundable after deducting the transaction and the usage charges.
• If the deposit is paid by PayPal, about 4% is deducted from your deposit for the PayPal transfers.
• In case you no longer purchase nor submit any bids, ADS usage fee of 5,000 JPY is deducted per month, which starts one month after your last purchase or your last reasonable bid (even you failed to win the auction).
• For the first 3 months, we don't charge monthly ADS usage fee from your advance membership deposit.

After winning the auction, proforma invoice will be issued on the same day. You will receive a notification e-mail in regard to the new added proforma invoice. If you do not receive any notification even though 1 day after the auction ends, please check your spam/junk folder and contact to Has-Nihon Export Department at export@hasnihon.com.

Payment is expected to be complete within 3 days after the proforma invoice is issued. In case of a delay there will be extra penalty charges as below:

• If the bid amount is up to 800,000 JPY, for every 3 days delay 5,000 JPY of penalty will be charged.
• If the bid amount is between 800,000 ~ 1,600,000 JPY, for every 3 days delay 10,000 JPY of penalty will be charged.
• If the bid amount is over 1,600,000 JPY, for every 3 days delay 15,000 JPY of penalty will be charged.

Export fees for premium members

The chart below describes the basic export fees for premium members in case of bidding up to 800,000 JPY. If the customer's bids exceed 800,000 JPY amount, additional export fees will be added. (explained in Additional Export Fees section)

• If you choose DP, after winning the auction the car will be transferred directly to the port of departure.
• If you choose DHP, after winning the auction the car will be transferred first to Hasnihon Yard, and after a period of time, to the port of departure.
• If you choose DP+P, after winning the auction the car will be transferred to port of departure including additional photos taken in port when waiting for shipment.
• If you choose DHP+IP, after winning the auction first the car will be transferred to Has-Nihon yard at and then to the port of departure. In this option inspection and additional photos are also included.

Export fees for advance members

The chart below describes the basic export fees for advance members when bidding up to 800,000 JPY. If the customer's bids exceed 800,000 JPY, additional export fees will be added. (explained in Additional Export Fees section)

NOTE: The approximate tranportation fees described in the above chart apply only to standard size sedan cars, but DO NOT apply to machinery, heavy truck or bus, damaged car which is not drivable, etc.
The transportation fee for these are calculated for each case.

FOB (Free On Board) is a pricing term that indicates the total cost until the port of departure. FOB does not include shipping freight and marine insurance.

FOB price is calculated by summing up the following pieces:

• Winning Bid Amount
• Auction House Fee (average 10,000 JPY)
• Export Fee (DP/DHP/DP+P/DHP+IP)
• Additional Export Fee (if the winning bid amount is over 800,000 JPY)
• Transportation Fee
• If necessary, other possible fees:
  • Further job requests such as body repair, paint, mechanical, etc.
  • Exceeded storage days: 300 JPY for each day after the free storage days end.
  • Auction sheet translation: 500 JPY for each page of translation.
  • Inland freight and vanning fee.
  • Higher auction house fee in case;
    • Machinery, heavy truck or bus, damaged car which is not drivable.
    • Negotiated car which has long period of stay in auction house.

Shipping Through Roll-on/Roll-off Vessels

Roll-on / roll-off (ro-ro) vessels are designed to carry wheeled cargo such as cars, trucks, trailers that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels. In case of purchasing only one or two drivable cars this type of shipment might be preferred.

Shipping Through Container Vessels

Roll-on / roll-off (ro-ro) vessels are designed to carry vehicles as it is but container (cargo) vessels are needed to use a crane to load and unload the containers. If purchased vehicles are in un-drivable condition, this type of shipment is the only option. A container can also be filled with a mix of vehicles and spare parts. For some countries, even good condition used cars should be shipped in a container, in that case additional charges are required as under on top of export fees.

Inland freight (drainage) and vanning charges are described as below:

An auction bid can be cancelled until 90 minutes before the auction time by emailing to export@hasnihon.com. After the auction ends bid cannot be cancelled and customer will be responsible to pay the auction item within 5 days, otherwise the security deposit will be siezed and premium membership will be suspended.

We assume that the buyer is completely informed about the possibility of importing a vehicle to the destination country. We will not take the responsibility for the purchased vehicles if the buyer does not inform us before bidding of what restrictions are applied for importing vehicles in their country. While bidding, please enter relevant information into the comment box (for example: "Must be less than 5 years old", "must have airbag", etc.)

We assume that buyers are familiar with the regulations concerning import approval and compliance for their own countries. As such, the responsibility to comply and register the vehicle entirely belongs to the buyers. We will deal with everything in the export process until the vehicle is landed in your country.

Customs, compliance, tax, duty and registration are entirely in the buyer's responsibility. Therefore, please make sure that you are familiar with all the regulations governing vehicle import to your country.
