About System

ADS (Auction Data Search) is a search engine for auto auctions all around Japan. It crawls the biggest auction systems data and translates them from Japanese to English. With this system, you are completely able to search for various kinds of vehicles provided by Japanese auctions, without any Japanese language skill.

Has-Nihon is one of the pioneer companies that has developed this type of auction search engine in Japan. We hope you will get all of the advantages of our system and enjoy purchasing your desired vehicles with ease.

How to use ADS:

1. Joining Has-Nihon Trading Co. Ltd. :
   Please visit www.hasnihon.com and fill out the membership registration form. You can use your membership ID and password for both of the www.hasnihon.com and www.auctiondatasearch.jp websites.
2. Searching for your favorite cars in the auctions :
   Please log into www.auctiondatasearch.jp and go to Japan Auctions tab and enter searching conditions. For more exlanations see: search process tutorial.
   
3. Making a deposit for the auction items :
   There are two types of deposit choices available that both are refundable. Please find the explanations about the deposit types below:

Details of the ADS System:

1. Choosing the Deposit Type:

In order to purchase a car from auto auctions a deposit payment is required. There are two deposit types available:

"Premium Membership Upgrade" or "Making Advanced Deposit".

1.1. Premium Membership Upgrade:

If you are planning to purchase several number of cars cars from auctions, upgrading to premium membership is strongly recommended.

For premium membership 100,000 JPY deposit is required. As soon as we recive this fee we upgrade customer's membership level to a premium member and the customer will become able to define bids for the auctions immediately.

Premium membership deposit is refundable after deducting the transaction charges. The one way average transaction charge for bank transfers is about 2,500 JPY and for PayPal transfers is about 4% of the transaction amount.

With premium membership, bids can be defined up to 1,000,000 JPY. To define a bid over 1,000,000 JPY,an additional deposit payment as 25% of over amount will be required.

Base export fees for premium members:
  The chart below describes the basic export fees for premium members in case of bidding up to 800,000 JPY. If the customr's bids exceed 800,000 JPY amount, additional export fees will be added (explained in section 3).

While defining a bid, the payment plan (plan A, plan B) and the desired tansfer option (DP, DHP, DHP+IP) should also be described.

Payment Plans:

With plan A, complete payment within 4 days after winning the auction will be required.

With plan B, complete payment within 8 days after winning the auction will be required.

Transfer Options:

If you choose DP, after winning the auction the car will be transferred directly to the port of departure.

If you choose DHP, after winning the auction first the car will be transferred to Has-Nihon yard and then to the port of departure.

If you choose DHP+IP, after winning the auction first the car will be transferred to Has-Nihon yard at and then to the port of departure. In this option inspection and additional photos are also included.

1.2. Making an Advance Deposit:

This option is useful for those who are planning to purchase only one unit from Japan auto auctions. The deposit rate changes as following:

• To define a bid up to 400,000 JPY , the minumum required deposit is 100,000 JPY.
• To define a bid between 400,000 ~ 1,000,000 JPY ,the minumum required deposit is equal to the 25% of the bid amount.
• To define a bid over 1,000,000 JPY ,the minumum required deposit is equal to the 50% of the bid amount.

In case of an unsuccessful bid, the advance deposit can be used to purchase another car in auctions. Advance deposit is refundable after deducting the transaction charges. 2. Payment Terms:

After winning the auction, proforma invoice will be issued on the same day. You will receive a notification email in regard to the new added proforma invoice. If you do not receive any notification even though 1 day after the auction ends, please check your spam/junk folder and contact to Has-Nihon Export Department at export@hasnihon.com.

Payment is expected to be complete within allowed time depends on a choice of Payment Plan (Plan A or Plan B). In case of a delay there will be extra penalty charges as below.

• If the bid amount is up to 800,000 JPY, for each day of delay 5,000 JPY of penalty will be charged.
• If the bid amount is between 800,000 ~ 1,600,000 JPY, for each day of delay 10,000 JPY of penalty will be charged.
• If the bid amount is over 1,600,000 JPY, for each day of delay 20,000 JPY of penalty will be charged.

3. Additional Export Fees:

If bid is over 800,000 JPY amount, additional export fees will be added like described in the below chart.

4. Local Transportation Fees:

Transportation fee depends on the location of auction house. The chart below describes the approximate tranportation fees:

5. Calculating the FOB Price:

FOB (Free On Board) is a pricing term that indicates the total cost until the port of departure. FOB does not include shipping freight and marine insurance.

FOB price is calculated by summing up the following pieces:

• Bid Amount
• Auction House Fee (average 10,000 JPY)
• Base Export Fee
• Additional Export Fee (if bid is over 800,000 JPY amount)
• Transportation Fee
• Other Possible Fees:
  
  
  • Further job requests such as body repair, paint, mechanical, etc.
  • Exceeded storage days: 300 JPY for each day after the free storage days end.
  • Auction sheet translation: 500 JPY for each page of translation.
  • Inland freight and vanning fee, in case of container shipment.
  • Higher auction house fee for below type of items:
    
    
    • Machinery, heavy truck or bus, damaged car which is not drivable.
    • Negotiated car which has long period of staying in auction house.

Pricing Abreviations:

FOB : Free On Board, total cost until the port of departure.

C.I. = FOB + Marine Insurance

C & F = FOB + Shipping Freight

C.I.F. = FOB + Marine Insurance + Shipping Freight

Shipping Through Roll-on/Roll-off Vessels:

Roll-on / roll-off (ro-ro) vessels are designed to carry wheeled cargo such as cars, trucks, trailers that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels. In case of purchasing only one or two drivable cars this type of shipment might be preferred.

Shipping Through Container Vessels:

Roll-on / roll-off (ro-ro) vessels are designed to carry vehicles as it is but container (cargo) vessels are needed to use a crane to load and unload the containers. If purchased vehicles are in undrivable condition, this type of shipment is the only option. A container can also be filled with a mix of vehicles and spare parts. For some countries, even good condition used cars should be shipped in a container, in that case additional charges are reiquired as under on top of export fees.

7. Cancellation Terms and Conditions:

An auction bid can be cancelled until 2 hours before the auction time by emailing to export@hasnihon.com. After the auction ends bid cannot be cancelled and customer will be responsible to pay the auction item within 7 days, otherwise the security deposit will be siezed and premium membership will be suspended.

8. Import and Registration Restrictions:

We assume that the buyer is completely informed about the possibility of importing a vehicle to the destination country. We will not take the responsibility for the purchased vehicles if the buyer does not inform us before bidding of what restrictions are applied for importing vehicles in their country. While bidding, please enter relevant information into the comment box (for example: "Must be less than 5 years old", "must have airbag", etc.)

We assume that buyers are familiar with the regulations concerning import approval and compliance for their own countries. As such, the responsibility to comply and register the vehicle entirely belongs to the buyers. We will deal with everything in the export process until the vehicle is landed in your country.

Customs, compliance, tax, duty and registration are entirely in the buyer's responsibility. Therefore, please make sure that you are familiar with all the regulations governing vehicle import to your country.
